Your Starter Guide To Liposuction Prices

By Gabriel Lozen

The price of liposuction surgery depends on the weight of the patient, the time and effort that the surgeon needs to put in, the anesthesiologist's fees, the cost of the operating room, laboratory fees prior to the surgery and cost of garments and supplies required post surgery.

Of these factors, the most important is the amount of time and effort that the surgeon needs to put in. This is determined by the number of areas that are being operated on, the weight of the patient and the expected complexity of the surgical procedure.

This means that the cost of a liposuction surgery performed on say the abdominal region is less than that for the abdominal region plus the inner thighs. The price of a liposuction surgery performed on a patient who weighs around 132 lbs. will be lower than the price of surgery for a patient who weighs say 176 lbs. If you have had a previous liposuction surgery done on the same area on which you will be doing a second procedure, it will take greater time and effort. This is because the first surgery will be likely to have left scar tissue in the fat which makes a second liposuction surgery on the same area difficult.

The secondary factors that help in determining the price of a liposuction surgery are how experienced the surgeon is and the location of the surgeon's office. It is obvious that a surgeon, who comes with good client testimonials and is considered an expert, will charge more than someone who is not as experienced. Be careful while picking your surgeon as many surgeons who offer discounts or offer to operate at very low rates may be doing so due to a previous record of unsatisfactory results. In certain cities or in certain upmarket areas the costs for liposuction surgery may be higher.

While finding out the price for a liposuction surgery check to see if the rates you are being offered cover just the surgical fees or whether they also cover the non-surgical fees, anesthesiologist's fees etc. Usually if you get the surgery done at the surgeon's office you will be charged a lump sum amount that will take care of all the related surgical procedures and additional charges.

This is why you need to be sure if the quote you are getting is for just the surgery or for the entire procedure. - 31905
